The digital rights to Priyadarshan’s madcap entertainer Hungama 2 are sold to Disney+ Hotstar for a stunning Rs. 30 crores. Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty, and Meezaan Jaffry featured in the comedy, which also features comedy artists Rajpal Yadav and Johny Lever. The producers of “Hungama 2” announced Monday that the film will be released straight on a streaming platform because theatres in most states have been closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The film, which is a sequel to director Priyadarshan’s 2003 smash comedy “Hungama,” was set to open on August 14 this year.
“On July 16, Hungama 2 will launch on Disney+ Hotstar, and its trailer will be released on July 1.

The film represents Priyan’s return to the Hindi cinema industry after a long break, and the stakes are so high.
It’s a follow-up to the popular comedy from 2003, which starred Akshaye Khanna, Rimi Sen, Paresh Rawal, and Aftab Shivdasani. Interestingly, Akshaye will appear in Hungama 2 in a small role.
Apart from Hungama, Ramesh Taurani’s horror-comedy Bhoot Police will be released on Disney+ Hotstar in September.
