The hotel industry is encouraging the use of electric vehicles (EVs) among travelers who frequently travel by automobile to access popular places, in order to support the clean air movement and minimize carbon footprints.
However, most consumers who would ordinarily like to drive an EV are put off by range anxiety, or the dread of running out of power while traveling and not being able to find the EV charging stations.
As a result, many hotels in India are forming partnerships with EV charging firms to install charging stations on their grounds. Destination charging is also expected to play a significant role in the country’s adoption of high-end electric vehicles.
At the Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi Airport, both parties reached a Deal (MoU). The MoU was signed by Radisson Hotel Group Managing Director and Vice President (Operations) – South Asia, Zubin Saxena, and Sunfuel Electric Co-Founder and Head – Partnership and Community, Gul Panag, on behalf of their respective companies.
Through this collaboration, Saxena stated they are furthering their vision of a sustainable tomorrow and reiterating their mission to influence the future of responsible travel. Sudhir Nayak, the founder, and CEO of SunFuel Electric believes that destination charging will promote the adoption of high-end EVs in India. SunFuel is collaborating with hotels in India’s most popular tourist destinations to provide seamless EV charging.
The effort attempts to alleviate range anxiety among tourists, especially those who visit major tourist destinations.
Electric mobility, according to Panag, should not be limited to municipal boundaries. Without worrying about range anxiety, electric automobiles may be utilized for weekend journeys to the mountains. She went on to say, “Move along if you want to go swiftly. Go together if you want to go far.”

Radisson Hotel India Road Trip to promote EV charging Stations
Meanwhile, the Radisson Hotel Group has introduced the “India Road Trip,” which invites Radisson hotel customers to travel around India on exciting long drives while staying in the group’s safe and comfortable facilities.
As part of its clean and green strategy, the Radisson Blu Resort and Spa in Karjat erected Solar Panels as the first step toward environmental preservation in 2019.
With the SunFuel collaboration on the EV charging stations, the hospitality brand said it will consider working with SunFuel’s EV Trails in the future, allowing electric car customers the same personalized road trip itineraries when staying at Radisson hotel facilities.
Fern Hotels & Resorts has teamed with Magenta, am Stays & Trails– a unit of Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has worked with Tata Power, and Marriott is working with CESL to build and run EV charging infrastructure in India.
